International symposium starts today
The international symposium "Legal renovation and National legal system" started today at the Government House. The symposium is organized by the following organizations: Banner administration of the Parliament, Standing Committee of law and Hans Zaidel`s Foundation. The purpose of the meeting is to set the direction for the legal system in Mongolia.
The "Mongol Insurance" is monopolizing
Today at the Press Hall the presidents of the "Silk Road" and "Inhshree" insurance companies stated that the "Mongol Insurance" has a monopoly on the auto insurance industry. During the auto investigation the insurance right was granted only to the "Mongol Insurance" company because, only it would afford to pay the 1 million tugrug the Government charges for the right to insure autos. This, in turn violates auto owners right to choose their own company.
FACTS: Last year all the insurance companies (except Mongol Insurance) insured 1500-2000 vehicles.

Also discuss whether "Makhimpex" Share Holding Company was privatized according to the law.

ELECTION NEWS
15 women candidates
might run from The
Mongolian National Democratic Party(MNDP)
15 women
candidates will run in this upcoming election. Their names are not yet revealed
but so far one of the influential members, head of the majority in the Parliament
G.Oyungerel and Director of the "Eagle" television Ts.Oyundari are
might run. Head of the MNDP Mrs.B.Delgermaa is being held responsible of the
question about the candidates. The names of the candidates will be decided today.

The electricity shortage
in western 3 provinces
Electricity
shortage might happen in western 3 provinces such as Uvs, Hovd, Gobi-Altai because
of their debt to the Russian Companies which import electricity. The debt amount
is nearly 600 million. It was recent that due to the misunderstanding there
was an electricity shortage in those provinces, but it seems this might happen
again.
Since yesterday Zavhan
province is dark
At 7pm there has
been an electricity shortage due to the lack of the diesel fuel at the Energy
Factory. There are enough diesel at the gas stations but because of their debt
these gas stations are refusing to sell it.
Election is becoming
a major question
The Standing Committee
on Legal Affairs has started its regular sessions 2 hours late due to the absence
of the some members. During this session they will discuss the subject restructuring
of the Election Committee.
