KAZAKHSTAN, NATO LEADERS DISCUSS AFGHANISTAN, CENTRAL ASIA
ASTANA. Oct 6 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) - Kazakh President Nursultan
Nazarbayev and NATO Secretary General George Robertson have exchanged
opinions on the situation in Afghanistan and Central Asia during a phone
conversation.
The two also discussed the results of the international
peacekeeping exercises Centrazbat-2000 conducted in Kazakhstan last
month in the framework of the NATO Partnership for Peace program,
Nazarbayev's press service told Interfax on Friday.
They also considered the present state of and prospects for
cooperation between Kazakhstan and NATO.
The press service pointed out that the two men's conversation took
place in keeping with earlier understandings.
