TAJIK FIRST DEPUTY PREMIER'S BODYGUARD ABDUCTED
A group of some seven gunmen abducted the bodyguard and chauffeur of Ali
Akbar Turadjonzoda in central Dushanbe on 11 October,
Interfax reported. A former leading member of the United
Tajik Opposition, Turadjonzoda escaped injury when gunmen
opened fire on his motorcade earlier this. LF
