U.S. FBI DIRECTOR IN TASHKENT
Louis Freeh, director of the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation, visited Tashkent
on 8-9 April for discussions on
cooperation in the fight against crime and terrorism not only in Uzbekistan
but in Central Asia as a whole, ITAR-TASS reported. He reportedly will
discuss how the U.S. can cooperate in Uzbekistan's struggle "against
extremism and religious fanaticism," the Russian news agency reported. PG
