"Dozens of civilians killed, injured" in clashes in Uzbek south - Iran radio
Reporting about the clashes between Uzbek government forces and Islamic
militants in the southernmost Uzbek Surkhandarya Region on 9th August,
Iranian radio said that, according to an unchecked report, "dozens of
civilians were killed and injured" in a village in the Region's Saryassiya
District as a result of an attack carried out by the Uzbek troops against
the militants.
"According to an unchecked report, an order was given [to the Uzbek troops]
to launch a large-scale attack on Kishtut village and dozens of civilians
were killed and injured as a result of the attack," the radio said.
