UZBEKISTAN SEEKS TO PROMOTE FOREIGN INVESTMENT IN PROVINCES.
The Uzbek cabinet has adopted a five-year program intended to
encourage foreign participation in some 343 joint ventures
throughout the country's regions, Interfax reported on 12
October. Most of those joint ventures will engage in the
processing of agricultural production or in light industry
and the manufacture of construction materials. LF
